About Carya Amara
The long-running, low-profile electronic music project Carya Amara (est. 1980) defies categorisation, making music which may be melodic or atonal, discordant or beguiling. Trying to fit into genres makes generic music; this is a different approach.
Currently, just three albums are available (in addition to some compilation appearances) but more are forthcoming. These are all available from Earthrid, along with music by related projects (Audio Space Research, Rhythmicon and Abominations of Yondo).
Live performances have taken place occasionally since 1999. Maybe it’s getting towards time for another one….
